Bruce Hursey currently serves as president of HfHO’s Board of Directors. He became acquainted with Habitat through his church, First United Methodist Church in Monroe several years ago, when the church undertook the building of three houses for Habitat over a 3 to 4 year period. He is active in his church, having served on its building committee as well as other committees and boards. Hursey also coordinates FUMC’s “Methodist Menders”, a ministry that builds wheelchair ramps for the needy.
Hursey initially studied architecture at Texas A&M before transferring to LSU where he earned BS and MS degrees in forestry and wood technology. Now retired, his work history includes 45 years of experience in wood products manufacturing and executive search for that industry with Fortune 500 companies.
